House of Emo: 2008 & Beyond

Attention punk-ass emo kids!

I'm sick and tired of seeing these poser emo sites popping up like opium fields for the masses. They make me want to cut some fool. Therefore, I want you to help make 2008 the best year ever for House of Emo, the original emo community. House of Emo is looking for writers/bloggers, band reviewers, photographers and music fans to join the House of Emo team in 2008.

I've given a lot of thought to what would make this site more kickass. Now I'm going to stop thinking about it and get off of my ass. I'll have more in-depth writeups for you later, but here's a teaser. In 2008 we will be unrolling:

  1. House of Emo Digital Magazine
  2. House of Emo T.V.: Part fashion channel, part porn? (Ok, not really)
  3. House of Emo Radio Show: Truth or Dare
  4. Better Content: Including band interviews, Video News, How-to's & Lifestyle Crap
  5. Bleeding Hearts Society: The Section Formerly known as Poetry Corner
  6. Improved Website Functionality: Including Private Messaging for members and more comprehensive Profiles
  7. A New Website Layout
  8. House of Emo Fashion Line: Diefor T-Shirts & Apparel (To be announced soon)
  9. Official HoE Meetups: All over the globe

But I need all of your help to make it happen. And in true DIY spirit, all of it must beon a budget of $0 dollars. You heard that right. This site costs me a pretty penny already, and I don't aim to spend any more on it.

Finally. Let's see some more community interaction here. Diefor tshirts could be interesting. What kind of tshirts are you making? Cuz I won't wear anything with House of Emo all over it, no offense. House of emo looks old site. A new design would make it look better. Also, how do you plan on getting your own "radio show"? Sorry if I sound critical. I'm really optimistic about these proposed additions.

Heh. Though i like this place very much, because it's not like those others 'omg, kissing emoboys pics'-sites, i'm afraid it goes a bit poser'ish too.

Music is already big failure. My Chemical Romance? Death Cab For Cutie? Emo? No way. I bet that most people, who visit this site regulary, don't know nothing about Saetia, Moss Icon and Sunny Day Real Estate a.ka the real emo bands.

And that lifestyle and fashion stuff...well I hope you mean real subculture including pants that actually fit, hair that does not look like it's copied from blessthefall's band pic, vinyl records and diy ethics.

I would gladly help with reviwes and write for House of Emo, but if you let me review something like Fall Out Boy, then you'll get only bad language and sarcasm.

Don't take my harsh words very seriously. I like your site, i visit it often and i support you 100%.

I would totally be up to writing a few articles and maybe do a few design concepts if you'd like. And the city where I live would definently benefit from a few HoE meetings. The scene here is so dead.

A logo that is just sick enough that people will actually wear it and not be embarrassed would help you guys alot too. I mean I'm pretty good with CSS and spend most of my time using After Effects and Illustrator so all you gotta do is email me with some basic stuff that you might want to incorporate and I'll give you a quick mark up of what I came up with.

Idk, this website needs alot of work. And its sad to not have heard from the original creator since March.

I'd really love to help you out. I can do band interviews and possibly get some local show photos. I'm good at reviews and things of the like, and I've been looking for a haven to get back into this sort of thing again.

I can help with the digital magazine, and even help with graphics for the new layout. And as far as HoE meetups, I'd be stoked to help with coordination for those events. I could even run my own "advice column" for people. Have them email me questions and pick like 5 or 6 to answer for the magazine.

Hit me up and let me know, because I'm definitely very interested.
